KnowHow Solar Enterprises, established in 2011 as a Sole Proprietorship, was founded with a clear mission: to provide accessible and affordable solutions in refrigeration and solar energy for lighting, heating, and water pumping systems, including dams and boreholes. In 2023, the company transitioned into KnowHow Solar Enterprises Limited. Based in Nairobi, we proudly serve and install systems across Kenya.
Our purpose
The concept for KnowHow Solar Enterprises was born from a personal need to create a cooling solution for our family’s farm produce. We developed our first solar-powered cooling facility based on our expertise in refrigeration and solar energy systems. Recognizing the critical role of energy in achieving all eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), as emphasized at the 2002 World Summit for Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg, we were inspired to extend affordable and clean energy solutions to a wider audience. Our mission has become even more urgent with the escalating costs of electricity and fossil fuels.
